My Final Demonstration Teaching

MIPA Class 2

During my final demonstration teaching, I used the Philippines' lesson plan format which is 5 A's. Upon determining my objectives and subject matter, I set my concepts to be discussed as well as align my activities to the topic.

Before introducing my main topic, I let my students sing a song entitled Math class and I'seen that they enjoyed a lot. During the review of the previous, we played a game and the students enjoyed a lot and have so much fun after receiving a prize. After that, I present my subject through scrambled letters that my students arranged correctly. The, as part of their review, I let them graph the several angles in a Cartesian plane which my students focused a lot and seek the help form me and the assistant teacher inside the class.

Upon introducing the main topic to them, I translated some of my instructions from english to bahasa for us to understand each other. My students are very amazed because I speak in bahasa especially in math terms. Some of the examples presented was left to the students answer and some where chosen to show their solution on the board. The students are very attentive and they participate atively during my discussion though they are a little noisy.

After discussing the topic, I gave them an activity in group in which they need to determine the sines of trigonometric functions in each quadrant. Before the class ends, I gave them a short quiz for me to assess if they gain some information in my class.

My one on one mentoring to my students

I was instructed by my cooperating teacher to prepare a lesson plan good for 1 hour. And so, I designed my lesson plan and its activities which I think it can fit to 1 hour. During my teaching period, some circumstances happened because some of my students are still shy to participate in my class and some of my students cannot understand my instruction in english so I translated it to their language. However, I get their attention with motivating them through my prizes.

I was able also to fit my time because I already prepared by things needed ahead of time and organize it on the table. Through that, I was able to deliver my lesson smoothly and accurately because my students and listening attentively and understand the lesson.

Before I have my class, I'm a little bit nervous because I might not control my students in my class since we have a language barrier. However, my guts are wrong, I even catch their attention and manage the class well. My cooperating teacher at the back nod his head and raise his thumbs up. I felt at ease that time and regain my confidence in continuing my lesson.

I was able to catch the attention of the boys of the since because they are noisy. After that, I was able also to cater the queries of my students about the lesson.

At the end of the class, I felt relieve and satisfied with my demo. All photos captured by my co - participant from Thailand was very meaningful to me. A great smile indeed comes out from me when I took a photo with my cooperating teacher Pak (Sir) Mohammad Radi.
